Join Donal and Matt as they help you build foundations for correct and functional cow and ranch work
This clinic will focus on building correct, functional horses for real ranch and cow work, combining Donal’s foundation-first approach through Hancock Horsemanship with Matt’s experience in reining and reined cowhorse competition.
Donal is known for his emphasis on softness, body control and preparing horses properly before adding pressure, helping riders create horses that stay calm, responsive and confident in their work. He is the recipient of the Jack Brainard Horsemanship Award and 2023 Reserve Champion Road to the Horse World Championship Colt Start.
Matt Clifford of Fancy Stepping Performance Horses brings a strong performance background, with time spent training in Canada and nearly 40 championship buckles in reining, including multiple national titles.
Over the two days we’ll cover:
• Dry work and ranch event fundamentals
• Mechanical cow work
• Cattle work
• Body control, feel and timing
• Preparing horses for cowhorse, ranch and performance work
